DENTON AT A GLANCE
Replacing a water heater in Denton.
Denton requires a permit to repair or replace a water heater. The fee is a flat $50, and you need a final plumbing inspection. Most of the city gets power from city-owned Denton Municipal Electric, whose GreenSense program has paid 30% up to $300 for heat pump water heaters. The 2025–26 money is used up, and the city says updates come after Oct. 1, 2026.
