AURORA AT A GLANCE
Replacing a water heater in Aurora.
Aurora posts no separate water heater permit, so ask the Division of Building and Permits which one a same-type replacement needs. Contractors must register with the city, and permits run through the eTRAKiT portal. ComEd and Nicor Gas serve Aurora. The city treats its own Fox River and well water and softens it with lime to about 6–10 grains per gallon.
