LOCAL CONDITIONS
What’s different in Rockwall.
Garage and attic rules
Rockwall requires every water heater in a garage to sit on a platform at least 18 inches off the floor. A water heater in an attic or above the first floor needs an approved leak detector.
Old combined drain lines must be redone
If the relief valve (T&P) and pan currently share one drain line, it must be split so each runs separately outside, unless that can't be done. You need an expansion tank if the water supply passes through a check valve, pressure reducing valve or backflow preventer.
