The reviewer said he paid a $2,499.99 special for next-day replacement but the install was not scheduled for six days until another employee arranged it the same day.

The reviewer alleged that during a building-wide swap Reliable replaced his 50-gallon water heater with a 37-gallon unit and gave shifting reasons for not installing its 47-gallon model.

The customer said a rotten-egg smell appeared 30 days after a $5,000 installation, a technician missed an appointment window, and Reliable would not honor a promised maintenance plan, quoting over $1,500 for a flush and anode rods.
Company reply and outcome: Reliable said the person who made the promise was no longer the owner and asked the customer for written documentation of the agreement.

The customer said a tankless water heater sold at $59.99 a month for 96 months turned out to be under an equipment lease with a $2,751 end-of-term purchase option that was not explained.

Company reply and outcome: Reliable said the terms were in the signed agreement; after the customer disputed the balance, Reliable said on 08/23/2024 that it reconciled the account and applied a credit.
Ask before booking: Ask whether the water heater is being sold outright or placed on a rental/lease agreement, and get the monthly term, buyout price and warranty in writing.
