Replacing a water heater in Addison.
Addison doesn't say online whether a water heater needs a permit, so call the Building Division. Power is ComEd, gas is Nicor Gas, and water is Chicago's Lake Michigan water from the DuPage Water Commission. All applications go through the CityView portal. There's no contractor registration, but plumbers upload their Illinois licenses (055 and 058) and a letter of intent each time.

- Who gets the permit
- Plumbing contractors on any Addison project must hold an Illinois license. They submit their 055 and 058 licenses and a letter of intent with each online application. The village doesn't say whether homeowners can pull their own permit.
