BBB complaint

Customer name withheld · August 5, 2026 · Answered

The customer said a leaking heater was replaced with a commercial-grade unit rather than a residential one, that they could not reach the project manager for weeks, and asked for an exchange or refund of the difference and labor.

Company reply and outcome: On August 25, 2026, John Moore said the installed State unit was a residential upgrade at no added price because the contracted economy model was unavailable, and offered to install the original model once it is back in stock. BBB lists the status as Answered, not Resolved.

BBB complaint

Customer name withheld · December 19, 2025 · Resolved

A customer's spouse said the online invoice for a November 2025 water heater replacement did not match the $5,239.96 paid, alleging a $764.99 overcharge, and said a $149 check did not address it.

Company reply and outcome: John Moore said the signed estimate for the full job was $5,235.96, that staff had sent only the water heater portion of the invoice, and that the $149 was a membership cancellation refund. The customer accepted the explanation on December 22, 2025.
