What the reviews say

Water heater replacement & service

Water heater feedback

Customers praised same-day water heater appointments and installations, clear explanations, help with financing and a strong warranty.

Worth knowing about their water heater work

In BBB complaints, one landlord said Dean's replaced a 20-year-old water heater (about $1,800) when the real problem was a utility-locked gas meter, and another said a new water heater installed without a relay kept their boiler running; Dean's responded to both, citing the heater's age and saying it fixed the boiler controls and offered a hotel stay (both listed as Answered).

BBB complaint

Customer name withheld · 10/29/2025

A rental owner said a technician diagnosed a failed gas valve on a 20-year-old water heater, they paid for installation of a customer-supplied replacement, and the new heater would not light either because the utility had locked the gas meter, so they spent over $1,800 replacing a working heater.

Company reply and outcome: Dean's said the technician found no gas reaching the pilot, the locked meter was unforeseen by everyone, and the 21-year-old heater was well past its expected lifespan. BBB lists the complaint as Answered.

BBB complaint

Customer name withheld · 04/15/2025

The customer said a new water heater connected to their boiler was installed without a relay, so the heating kept running with the thermostat off, and it was still running after a second visit.

Company reply and outcome: Dean's said it came out the next day, offered to pay for a hotel, replaced zone valves on a later visit and confirmed the system worked, and that it would use the feedback in training. BBB lists the complaint as Answered.
