The customer said a $4,170 water heater replacement came with no breakdown of charges and called the task pricing misleading.

Company reply and outcome: B&L said the $3,675 task price covered a 50-gallon power-vent water heater, installation, haul-away and permit, plus $300 venting and $250 expansion tank required by code, and that the customer signed the invoice; it said its flat pricing cannot be itemized.
