Other home plumbing or gas work starts at a $100 minimum for one fixture plus $25 for each extra fixture. A re-inspection for incomplete, defective or blocked work is $100. No permit is issued without a certificate of liability insurance and a copy of the Massachusetts license card.

Maynard's water comes from seven town wells, treated with greensand filters for iron and manganese at the Old Marlboro Road, Green Meadow and Rockland Avenue plants. The 2025 report shows manganese averaging 100 ppb (from non-detect up to 890 ppb), against a 50 ppb guideline. Calcium averaged 32.8 ppm (up to 73), magnesium 7.0 ppm, and chloride 132 ppm. Manganese and hardness settle in the bottom of the tank, so flushing the heater and checking the anode matter more here than on MWRA water.
