Replacing a water heater in Niles.
Niles requires a water heater permit, and it's a same-day Express Permit. A licensed plumber brings the application, an Illinois plumbing contractor license (055) and a letter of intent. One final inspection follows. ComEd and Nicor Gas serve Niles, and its Lake Michigan water comes from Evanston through the Morton Grove-Niles Water Commission. The Village sets its own install rules, from gas drip legs to closet venting.
