The customer said they used a $39 water heater flush coupon, the technician recommended $1,162 of plumbing work, and another company later found warm water leaking because the drain had not been tightened after the flush.

Company reply and outcome: The owner apologized and said the company would have returned to tighten the drain had it been notified first.

The customer said a technician told them their two 4-year-old, working water heaters would need replacing soon and sold a $1,500 sediment device, and that the heaters' temperature had been turned down that evening; they said the heaters worked fine for years after they turned it back up.
