BBB complaint
Customer name withheld · February 9, 2024 · Answered
The customer said a membership plumbing inspection described their two water heaters as 10 and 20 years old and recommended urgent replacement. They paid a $3,600 deposit, then found county permit records showing one unit had been installed by another company in April 2019. They said the refund took several calls and they filed a card dispute.
Company reply and outcome: SWAN said a manager had been playing phone tag with the customer and that the $3,600 refund was processed on February 8, 2024. The customer's follow-up quoted a SWAN email confirming the refund had been issued.
Ask before booking: If an inspection recommends replacing a water heater, ask for the unit's age and date code and the specific failure signs before paying a deposit.
