The reviewer said a leaking upstairs tank was replaced the same day; the awkward location pushed the cost above the initial estimate, which the reviewer considered fair.
BBB complaint
Customer name withheld · 11/25/2025 · Answered
The customer said a heater installed in March 2025 developed a sulfur smell because a magnesium anode was used on well water, and that the company suggested other causes and a $3k-$4k filtration system.
Company reply and outcome: Mr. Plumber said it replaced the anode rod on 12/08/2025 and, when odor persisted, replaced the water heater on 12/11/2025 under its customer-satisfaction policy. The customer rejected the response as omitting details, including that the anode rod visit was charged.
BBB complaint
Customer name withheld · 10/19/2025 · Answered
The customer (a landlord) said Mr. Plumber recommended replacing a leaking electric water heater and a valve, while another plumber fixed the leaking pipes above the heater for less.
Company reply and outcome: Mr. Plumber said the pressure was 140 psi, it estimated $3,038 for all issues, and the owner approved only an $878.75 pressure-reducing and shut-off valve job; water had reached the heater's electrical components, so it advised contacting the manufacturer.
BBB complaint
Customer name withheld · 08/28/2026 · Answered
The customer said a recirculation pump installed with a new water heater caused hot water to cross into cold lines and repeated fixes did not solve it.
Company reply and outcome: Mr. Plumber said it installed a Noritz tankless heater on September 22, 2025 after explaining that the home's recirculation option uses existing piping and can warm the cold side, and outlined its testing and follow-up visits.
Ask before booking: On a well or with hot-water odor concerns, ask which anode rod will be installed and what follow-up is covered if odor develops.
