What the reviews say
Water heater replacement & service
No water-heater-specific praise was found in the sources checked.
A 2025 BBB complaint alleged that a tankless water heater install had an undersized exhaust, an indoor intake and a copper condensate line contrary to the manual; Lutz replied that it was not called to inspect, would correct any error it made, noted the heater was customer-supplied, and offered to send someone out (listed as Answered).

Selected reviews · Checked September 30, 2026. One BBB complaint. The BBB profile's five customer reviews do not mention water heaters, Yelp showed a bot-verification page and could not be read, Angi was not checked, and the company website has no water heater testimonials. Too small a sample to judge the company's track record.
BBB complaint
Customer name withheld · 10/21/2025
The customer said Lutz installed their Rinnai tankless water heater in June 2023 for $1,307.75, and that when it began failing to ignite in 2025 another plumber and Rinnai found a copper condensate line, an exhaust reduced to 2 inches and an indoor intake, all contrary to the installation manual. They asked Lutz to correct the work or pay another plumber to do it.
Company reply and outcome: Lutz said it had not seen the complaint emails at first, that the customer never called it to review the work, that it would make things right if it did something wrong, that the heater was customer-supplied, and that it offered to send someone out. BBB lists the complaint as Answered.
Ask before booking: For a tankless install, will you follow the manufacturer's venting and condensate specifications and put that in writing, and how do you handle a warranty or code problem found later?
