Water heater replacement & service

Water heater feedback

A reviewer said Blue Sky made them feel they got full value on a boiler and water heater replacement, and a BBB complainant said a follow-up visit fixed their installation problems.

Worth knowing about their water heater work

One BBB complainant said Blue Sky charged for a warranty replacement water tank; Blue Sky said an internal policy change caused confusion, issued a $2,977.52 credit and the customer accepted. Another complainant reported a gas leak, reversed washer lines and unanswered calls after a 2024 installation; they said the owner then sent a technician who fixed the problems, and the complaint was resolved.

BBB complaint

Customer name withheld · July 30, 2026 · Resolved

The customer said a hot water tank installed with a boiler system in December 2020 leaked in August 2025, within its 5-year warranty. The customer said Blue Sky charged for the new tank and told them the manufacturer would send a check, but the manufacturer said no warranty claim had been filed.

Company reply and outcome: Blue Sky said an internal policy change led to incorrect information about a manufacturer credit. It said it should have charged only labor and miscellaneous materials for the indirect-fired water heater and issued a $2,977.52 credit (August 5, 2026). The customer said they were satisfied on August 6, 2026.

They said three calls went unanswered and the installers said water heaters were not what they usually installed.

Company reply and outcome: On May 11, 2024 the customer wrote that the owner called them and sent a technician within two hours. The technician addressed each concern and did extra work, and the customer asked to close the complaint. Blue Sky said it took ownership of the communication problems and considered the complaint resolved (May 13, 2024).

Ask before booking: If the water heater is still under a Blue Sky or manufacturer warranty, ask who files the warranty claim and what you will be charged for parts versus labor, in writing.
